Population and geographical distribution analysis of the Rhodope Tsigai sheep

Abstract: The aim of this study was to analyse the available in 2021 pedigree and geographic distribution data of the Rhodope Tsigai sheep. Some of the important population parameters, including generation interval and effective population size were calculated. The potential threats related to the concentration of the breed in the region of the Rhodope Mountains were estimated via the number of animals kept in farms in a circle with 25 and 50 km radius.
