Abstract: A study was carried out on the effect of the altitude and summer pruning on the anatomical structure of grape berry exocarp of Vitis vinifera L., cv. Vranec. It was established that the different altitudes – Gevgelija (50 m asl), Veles (280 m asl) and Skopje 595 m asl) did not have a significant effect on the changes in the epidermal layer thickness. Applied summer pruning had a stronger effect on the histological structure in the region with the lowest altitude. Hypodermal layer thickness increased from the region with the lowest altitude – Gevgelija (43.8 μm) towards the region with the highest altitude – Skopje (55.9 μm). The differences between the studied characteristics in the three regions were statistically significant.
